Conquering Skills for School Readiness
Possum classes are designed to prepare children for school. These children will participate in classes independently, learn how to cooperate with other children and participate in activities which challenge coordination, designed to help their minds and bodies mature.
Our independent children have fun with cooperative games and challenges to ensure that they have mastered control over their body’s movement and are ready to learn!
- Jump smoothly
- Hop on left/right leg
- Swing under monkey bars
- Walk up and down stairs
- Throw a ball overhand
- Kick a ball forcibly
- Cut with scissors

- Copy simple drawn shapes
- Ride a tricycle expertly
- Participate without parents
- Show interest in words
How often do classes run?
Classes run once a week for 45 minutes, during the school term. You can attend more frequently if you wish, depending on availability. Most centres break during school holiday periods, but some run holiday programs.
Can I join anytime?
Yes, if there are vacancies, you can join at any time. Fees will be adjusted accordingly.
Are all classes the same?
No. While classes follow a regular structure (that children recognise and enjoy), activities within the classes change with your child’s age and stage of development. Classes for children older than 3 years are also longer in duration.
